Careers in Aviation & Aerospace Fair

Last week I volunteered with the Air League at the Careers in Aviation and Aerospace event at the University of West London, and it was honestly such a great experience.

The room was full of students curious about aviation — some already passionate about flying, others just exploring what careers might be out there. I spent most of the day talking to people about the different opportunities in aviation and explaining what the Air League does, especially the scholarships and support they offer to help people get into the industry.

One thing that really stood out was how many students assumed aviation was out of reach for them. When we started talking about scholarships, mentoring and different pathways into flying and aerospace, you could almost see their mindset shift. Suddenly it felt possible.

That’s what I love about organisations like the Air League. They don’t just talk about opportunities — they actually help people access them.

It was also just really nice being around so many people who are excited about aviation. The industry can feel big and complicated sometimes, but events like this remind you that it all starts with curiosity and a conversation.
