My Letter To You.

Dear Young Aviators,

The aviation industry is a collaborative industry. One that fuels ingenuity, diversity and excellence through a common dream that connects us from all backgrounds. My long-term aspiration and values are aligned to inspire the younger generation to explore this amazing industry regardless of their background.

I notice there are little to no blogs that offer a one-stop shop for young people with values aligned to make a genuine change. The Proficient Airman aims to combine a multitude of areas:

– My flight training journey as a young, BAME from a low-income/privileged family background.

– Tips & advice from various seminars/webinars I attend.

– Education.

– Sharing in-depth notes on funded opportunities to help maximise your chances as and when they open up.

You will see the good, the bad and ugly of my journey. There’ll be plenty of mistakes and hindsights from training that I’ll try save you from!

Later into the future I look forward to creating podcasts around the ATPL ground study and hosting local exhibition stands with charities and organisations. I hope The Proficient Airman is of great use to anyone wishing to explore a career in aviation

I am always open to suggestions for improvement – please don’t hesitate to email me on [email protected] or [email protected] for a faster response.

This site is for you as much as it is for myself.

Warmest Regards,

The Proficient Airman, Mubashar Yasin.
